School Fun

I love when school can be more than paper and pencil and sitting in a desk. We do school in desks, at the kitchen table, on the floor, and in our cool brown swivel-rockers. Today it was actually behind the brown swivel-rockers.

Can you guess why? These pictures are clues as well as cute!

Yep, we had a puppet show!

  • First we read the familiar tale of "The Three Little Pigs".

  • After that I sent the girls outside to find small twigs for sticks, dried grass for straw, and small lava rocks for bricks.

  • When they came inside with their goodies, I had the puppet-making supplies set out. We each made a different pig from the story. I had fun making the Big Bad Wolf the night before.

  • They didn't really need time with the script, so I sent them behind the chair to wait for Daddy. A really nice perk about Daddy's new schedule: he gets to watch impromtu puppet shows during school hours. :)

Aren't these girls the cutest? After the performance for Daddy, they went downstairs to have another showing for Harrison. I've heard rumors that Harrison plays a mean Big Bad Wolf now. I love what kids can learn from each other! I've got my ticket to tomorrow's showing, and I can't wait.
