Things that go bump and other notable news

We are well into our fall routine. Well, as close to a routine as we are going to get with Lige's ever-evolving work schedule. Every day of the week is different, but we are starting to feel a rhythm in our weeks. Here's a typical week for me:
  • Sunday-Church, Sunday School, Nap, Youth Group
  • Monday-School, guitar lesson, mentor a high school student
  • Tuesday-School, dance class, female youth small group
  • Wednesday-School, Jr. high youth group, AWANA, Lige has a male small group at the house while I make cards and watch TV (a nice midweek treat!)
  • Thursday-School, THAT IS ALL!
  • Friday-School, dance class
  • Saturday-WHATEVER WE WANT!!

Add in playdates, naps, and crafts (all for mommy!) and we have very full weeks! We're starting to get settled in, but we've had our share of bumps.

Speaking of bumps, Isaac had a doosy this weekend. Brace yourself:

He was walking in the grass, took two wobbly steps onto the sidewalk and went down face first. In the seconds between him going down and Lige scooping him into his arms, this goiter swelled up. Since it swelled outward quickly and he was easily and quickly comforted, we just gave him Tylenol and watched it overnight. The bump was much better the next day, leaving just a nasty bruise.
Other important news is that HARRISON IS NOW TOILET TRAINED!! It took much longer than I would have liked, but hooray for being down to only one child in diapers!

And finally a few random moments from the Clan:
  • Anlynn calls hamsters hamsmers and it makes me chuckle every time I hear it. :)
  • Anlynn just recently stopped calling breakfast brecksmit. However, she must have given the rights to Harrison, because now he uses it. :)
  • When the girls don't let Harrison play with them, he cries to me dramatically (and sincerely) saying, "the girls are breaking my heart."
  • The three big kids have come up with this interesting and fun idea: one day they'll have "Amana and Anlynn Day" and Harrison is okay with that. Then they'll have "Harrison and Amana Day" and it doesn't bother Anlynn. And of course there's a "Anlynn and Harrison Day" and Amana finds fun things to do with me. :)
  • The three big kids have been playing really well together doing fun, imaginative, and creative activities. From making up skits, to playing restaurant, to pretending to be super heroes, it's sure fun to watch them interact so well. And actually enjoy each other.

Well, that's a mini wrap-up of our lives right now. Have a great week!
