Five Fast Family Facts

Five facts...sort of:
(and I just love this picture)

1. Being sick stinks. I've had a fever for at least the past 3 days, body aches, and the weirdest headache I've ever had. My poor family has done really well without me, thanks to their more than competent and loving father. I've pretty much been in bed since Saturday night, so it's hard to believe that tomorrow is already Wednesday.

2. Buttons are tricky. Especially for three year old boy hands. However, Harrison has mastered this formidable milestone this week.

3. I'm in love. With Gluten Free Bisquick. I felt well enough to make dinner tonight, and the GF Bisquick came to my aid. Ultimate Chicken Fingers were yummy, though I'll add more salt next time.

4. Kids grow. And everyday they grow one more step away from me. I have been especially aware of this with Amana lately. It's a sobering thought, but a good reminder to me: My kids will leave my nest. But I want their time here meaningful enough that they'll want to come back for visits! Intentional, one-on-one time is essential. And it's priority number one started tonight. (it was actually 2:1 intentional time, but I think it was a blessing to all involved!)

5. People amaze me. October is Pastor Appreciation Month, and people here have been blessing our socks off. I am humbled and awed by how people have felt led to bless our family. May I never come to expect these gifts or feel worthy of them. Each gift and word of encouragement has already served as a reminder to my feeble heart that God is my Jehovah Jireh -the God who provides.
