Anlynn's Mom Interview

I thought it would be fun to do an interview with Anlynn. It's the same one I did with Amana a few years ago. I love how different the girls are!

Here are the questions and answers:

1. What is something mom always says to you?

That I'm beautiful
2. What makes mom happy?
getting kisses and hugs
3. What makes mom sad?
being mean to her and not being very nice, like throwing a fit
4. How does your mom make you laugh?
she makes silly faces
5. What was your mom like as a child?
I do not know (very matter of fact, and also a little condescending-like she was humoring a simpleton! lol!)
6. How old is your mom?
I don't remember. 13? 16? 14?
7. How tall is your mom?
I don't know exactly. 15 inches? Am I right?
8. What is her favorite thing to do?
Reading
9. What does your mom do when you're not around?
Sleep. Sit and read and have some quiet time
10. If your mom becomes famous, what will it be for?
because she's beautiful
11. What is your mom really good at?
Being nice
12. What is mommy not very good at?
You're good at everything. Well, you're not good at making sure the gate is closed.
13. What is your mom's job?

Taking care of your kids at home
14. What is your mom's favorite food?
Buh-sketti. That's my guess
15. What makes you proud of your mom?
Having fun and playing with me. That's what makes me proud.
16. If your mom were a cartoon character, who would she be?
Dusty (I think she thought this question was stupid!)
17. What do you and your mom do together?
Talk together. Play something together

18. How are you and your mom the same?
Sometimes we both wear glasses
19. How are you and your mom different?
we don't wear the same shirts.
20. How do you know your mom loves you?
Because you like to love me.
21. Where is your mom's favorite place to go?
to Wal-mart

I think everyone with kids should consider asking them these questions. It'll make you laugh, but it'll encourage you, too. My daughter thinks I'm really good at being nice...she sees me being nice. My daughter thinks I'd be famous for being beautiful...my daughter thinks I'm beautiful. And the worst thing she thinks of me is that I don't remember to close the gate. Ahhhhh {satisfied, relieved sigh}

I go to bed many nights feeling like a flop as a mom. Knowing I didn't spend enough time with each child. Knowing I could have played with them more instead of telling them to "go play". Wondering if anything I did all day had any positive effect in their lives at all. This silly little interview allowed me to take a temperature of the heart inside one of my precious kiddos. And it turns out that things are much better than I lay awake fearing they are. God is gracious to parents. We can mess up in ways that seem huge to us, but God whispers into our hearts that we can do something different tomorrow. And tomorrow, I'm playing with Anlynn. :)
