Tidbits from the busy world of Deertales:
- After writing a list of sight words for school, I asked Anlynn to circle her favorite word. In a list of like, had, have, I, in, no, yes, she circled "I". I thought that was an accurate picture of our sin nature! I often try to make this world about ME, and I can get easily irritated when I don't get MY way.
- Harrison's joke: Knock knock Who's there? Woody. Woody who? Woody says, "Pull my string so I can say 'There's a snake in my boot!'" (followed by happy giggles)
- Getting ready to leave for a Girls Night Out, I asked Amana what she thought I should do while I was gone. She said, "Um, stay home." When I asked her again, she said, "Um, how about you stay home." Then, "Um, you could just stay home." This went on several more times, but I thought it was funny how she'd start it differently each time! Silly big girl. :)
- Isaac is starting to use sign language. He often says the word as he signs it. He knows more, please, thank you, and all done.
We are looking forward to Thanksgiving here at home. My parents and sister are joining us, and we are looking forward to their arrival on Wednesday. In preparation we've been cleaning and I've already been to the store for all the Thanksgiving goodies. Tomorrow I'll start some of the food prep. The turkey is already in the fridge thawing. I think it's gonna be a good holiday!
In school, we've been talking about the origins of Thanksgiving in America. The meager portions the Pilgrims were so grateful for has proven to be a powerful reminder to us of all we have to be thankful for. Counted among those blessings are all of you! We love you and thank the Lord for you! Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!
