Gingerbread Houses? Sort of...

We've been having some Christmas fun lately!
Here's our latest project: Gingerbread Houses!
Well, actually they're a little different. Since Anlynn is allergic to wheat, we opted to exchange the typical Christmas gingerbread houses for Rice Krispie Treat houses. With all the candy decorations and frosting glue, I don't think anyone missed real gingerbreard.
Here are some pictures of our afternoon. Anlynn hard at work frosting her house.
Everyone got their own bag of frosting to squeeze, even Harrison. I was not going to let fighting over icing ruin our fun activity. :)

While the rest of us chose 2 dimentional houses, Amana went 3D.

Amana's finished house. The colored balls are the lights and the big red candy on top is smoke from the chimney. :)

This is Harrison's house. He called it a flat house. I like the tree on the roof!

Anlynn's house turned out great. I love the really tall chimney and the windows.

And of course Mommy had to get in on the action. I love my use of the alternating red/green pattern for lighting, the butterscotch chimney, and the front door complete with door knob and wreath. I'm pretty sure mine turned out the best. :) Of course, I do have a few years on the kidlets... hehe!

I'll try to snap some pictures of our other seasonal projects and post another blog soon. Hope you are all finding ways to enjoy this special time of year.
