A Christmas Revue

Sunday evening was our church's Christmas Revue. Our three big kids and I each participated. After the show we fellowshipped with yummy Christmas goodies and hot spice cider.

Harrison was up first, dancing and shaking a jingle bell to...you guessed it: Jingle Bells! It was the Chipmonk version, and it was possibly the longest rendition I've ever heard...almost too long for ages three and under! But they were sure cute! Anlynn's class went next. They sang Happy Birthday Jesus and recited a Bible verse
with actions. They did well. Anlynn looked super cute in her new Christmas dress and sparkly red sweater. Plus, she let me really do her hair fancy. (That was a treat for me. The girl has lovely hair, but doesn't always let me have my way with it!)Amana's class is all girls! They did an interview with their teacher about the gifts they were giving back to Jesus this Christmas. Amana said she was giving Jesus Thankfulness (for her family) and she would show her thankfulness by helping more around the house. What a sweet girl.

Even though it's been years since I have sung in any capacity other than to the radio, I sucked it up and joined our youth/adult choir for Christmas. I didn't realize how much I missed choral music until I went to my first rehearsal. The young woman I mentor felt God leading her to start a youth/adult choir. So she ordered music, scheduled practices, and directed us! She is an incredible example to me of what walking in obedience should look like. And she's only 16 years old!

We sang one song, Noel. It was in four parts and it was lovely. And it was fun to get to know fellow singers in this group.

We had a wonderful night honoring our Lord through music and verse. All the kids did great and there were no tears!
Merry Christmas!
