We DO have other kids!

With all the excitement of Isaac's birth and all the posts about him and his delivery, you might think we've forgotten about our other three blessings! But, no, we have not- and this post is dedicated to them!

Harrison has hardly taken time to notice Isaac is even in the house! He has been playing with his GeoTrax, watching his dinosaur movie, and hanging with the big girls. He brought out a football today and told his daddy to "Go Deep!" Harrison is talking up a storm. We are constantly amazed at all the new words and concepts he understands. He was counting the other day...kind of: "six, seven, nine"! While my mom was here, she would sing to him each night she put him to bed. I'm guessing one song was Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, because he's been singing, "Winkle Winkle Star Up High"! I knew Harrison would look big when compared to Isaac, but seriously- the kid is suddenly a tank! He's solid and heavy...I can't believe I was able to lug him around 12 months pregnant!

Amana and Daddy have been attempting to learn how to ride a bike without training wheels. Amana has a personality that desires to be perfect, but lacks the drive to get there. When she first tries something, if she isn't immediately wonderful, it's hard to get her to keep trying. All that to say, bike riding lessons have not gone well! She's gone quite a good way without Lige holding on, but she can barely steer and has trouble "remembering" to pedal fast enough. Oh, well. We'll get there...or else she'll just walk everywhere!

It's hard to write much about Anlynn without talking about Isaac, because the girl hardly leaves him alone. She is the most smitten with our newest family member. Anlynn has always loved babies: real and dollies. As soon as she could stand, she was bouncing a baby doll on her hip. She has been a big help. She's the diaper getter, the cheek kisser, and the baby holder of the group. She loves to hold and snuggle Isaac, sometimes a little more than Isaac or mommy would like! When she does take a moment away from Isaac, it's been to ride her trike. She has mastered the art of one-footed pedalling! Lige showed the girls how to bunny hop on a bike, as well as pop wheelies. Anlynn has had fun "Poppin' Wees" on her tricycle!

Lige has been home this week to help all of us transition into our new routine. It's been wonderful to have him here. He brought me breakfast in bed several times, kept the living room picked up, stayed on top of laundry and dishes, and even had time to have special moments with the kids. If only we could live like this without needing an income! Lige heads back to work Monday, so that's when real life begins again. We'll still have about 2 weeks before Anlynn starts preschool and homeschooling resumes, so that will ease us into our fall routine even better.

And since I can't resist adding a little something about Isaac, here's a short update on our newest son! He has been giving us nice stretches of sleep at night: many 3 and 4 hour shifts. Thankfully, most times he eats and is right back to sleep: then so are we! It's hard to know this early what their temperment will be, but so far Isaac is super sweet, snuggly, and content. I guess 4th borns don't have much choice!
