ISAAC JONATHAN REED!
Born Wednesday, August 12, 2009 at 5:02pm
Tipping the scales at 9 lbs 15 oz, 21 1/2 inches
We had a scheduled induction Wednesday morning at 6:30. We were happy that we did not receive a post-pone phone call, so at 6:30am we checked into the hospital. At 8:15 the induction process began. At 10:15 we walked, rested, then walked again. At 12:15 the pitocin started. By 1:15 the
doctor came to break my water. The pain I had been longing for finally kicked in, and by 3:30 I was ready for the epidural!
Since we are used to inductions taking days, not hours, I had mentioned to a few friends that we would welcome visits to pass the long day. A friend arrived right as the epidural was beginning to take effect: perfect timing! She stayed for about a half hour, and she was a real blessing! Before she left, we received another blessing...a surprise and perfectly timed visit from Lige's mom! We were totally shocked that she was there! She came in and talked with us about 10 or 15 minutes, and suddenly it was time to push! Lige's mom has not been able to be here for any of our other children's births, so this was a real treat for all of us!
At
5:02pm on THE SAME DAY WE STARTED THE FIRST INDUCTION, Isaac was born! We were in happy shock that he arrived so quickly (for us!) and also quite surprised to have another son and not a daughter! We did not find out early about the sex, but for some reason Lige and I both had been expecting a girl! Needless to say, we are delighted to have our beautiful Isaac. He is a wonderful blessing from God and we are so thankful for his safe arrival.
