Out of the mouth of Amana

Amana has been saying some really cute things lately. She wanted to wear her new cross necklace to church on Sunday. She brought it to me to put on her and said, "I want to wear this today. I want to look pretty for God." It was a precious sentiment.

We've been giving Harrison more milk as we're cutting back on breastfeeding. While I poured him a cup yesterday, Amana asked, "Why are you giving him regular milk?" I told her Harrison is getting bigger and needs to drink big kid milk. She then said, "So he doesn't need his nursery milk anymore?" At our house, breastfeeding is usually referred to as "nursing", so it was a cute and understandable mix-up!

Anlynn, as sweet as she is, can make me want to pull my hair out sometimes. Those times usually involve her endurance in demanding something. She'll say, "I want gum" 100 times in a row, in varying degrees of volume and emotion. No matter what you say (unless it's, "here's the gum") she will say it again and again and again! Today she wanted me to get out of bed. Harrison was still sleeping, so I was hoping for a few more moments in bed. She said, "I want you to get up." I told her not yet. Again and again and again...until finally I replied, "I want you to get up." She was silent, pondering, considering. Then she said, "No! You're supposed to say NO, not 'I want you to get up'!" Then she went to play! That girl...isn't she clever?!
