Yep, Amana was very brave and successfully got her ears pierced! She chose emerald studs because she wanted her birthstone. She looks darling! I was a nervous wreck as we filled out paper work and got all set up. Amana was excited and sat there smiling a huge smile. The woman told her to look at me, and she did with the widest, toothiest grin I'd seen in a while. As the woman pulled the trigger, Amana's face did the most hilarious contortions. That wide grin opened into a shocked oval with eyes like saucers. Then she squinted with her mouth in a big "grrrr" expression. I thought she would cry at any second, but she didn't. When the woman was done with the first ear, I was afraid Amana would resist the second ear being pierced. But to my surprise and pleasure she sat there very brave and determined. For the second ear, her eyes got big for half a second and then she was fine!
I would love to post pictures of the experience, but we didn't have camera with us at all yesterday! Later this week, I'll take pictures of her and her new emerald studs and post them for you.
On a separate note, Amana had a woke up during the night and came into my room. Since Lige was out of town, I let her sleep with me. Sometime before the sun was up, Amana rolled over, still asleep, and said, "Obey your parents to the LORD, Ephesians 6:1"! She's memorized Bible verses for Awanas over the past school year. This verse was from a month ago! I wonder what she was dreaming about!
