Christmas 2012

I know we're only in the second week of January, but doesn't it seem like Christmas was forever ago?  I'm gonna have to let the pictures remind me of what a great time it was for our family!

Although this wasn't Lucy's first Christmas, it was her first Christmas as a toddler.  And I have to say, she was a very good toddler-baby when it came to the Christmas tree!  She loved to look but rarely touched any of the ornaments.

Since we would be traveling to celebrate with family December 23-27, we decided to try something a little different this year.  We deemed Saturday, December 22 as Christmas Day for the Reeds.   Our children have never woken up in our own home on Christmas morning, so we pretended for them this year.  It really helped get us all (even the usual Grinch) excited for the holiday.  We had the whole day to enjoy each other and our gifts before the rush of travel began.  I'm hoping to do something like this each year.

We were able to celebrate Christmas with all our families again this year.  It was a special time for us.  It involves planning and packing for 7 people, driving in winter weather, and a bit of rushing around, but it is so worth it to spend this sweet time with our families.  We enjoyed lots of yummy foods and good laughs.

Thankfully we survived our Christmases without anyone getting sick.  Until December 26th when I came down with a fever, and then well....I'll save that for another post!
