I am not a crunchy, granola-y kind of lady, but I am all about saving some money and time. A few months ago I decided to try making homemade baby wipes. We still had two kids in diapers, so we were always buying (and running out of) wipes. I know baby wipes aren't terribly expensive, but why spend any money if you don't have to? We always have paper towels, H2O, rubbing alcohol and baby wash on hand. Therefore there's no need for us to spend $3.00 on wipes. We stick them in a recycled plastic coffee canister. Double bonus. ;)
Since the baby wipes turned out well, I started thinking about homemade disinfectant wipes. I use them a lot in the kitchen and bathroom. Thanks to Pinterest (my latest love affair-anybody else hate that you're on that bandwagon?!) I found a recipe, and I just happen to have everything I need to make them tonight. You can make them with reusable cloth strips. However, like I mentioned above, I'm not that granola-y. Yet. I do kinda like the idea of re-purposing old t-shirts into reusable wipes...But not for this test batch!
Homemade Disinfectant Wipes:
1 cup water
1/2 cup vinegar
10 drops of Peppermint Essential Oil
1 recycled/repurposed/reused?? plastic coffee canister with lid
Half a roll of paper towels (you know, cut in half...not just half a roll pulled off...!)
