To encourage reading this school year, I instituted a Reading Incentive Program for Top Two Academy. Each time a book was read, the student got a ticket to put into their shiny silver bucket. When they got five tickets, they could choose a small prize from the prize box. They also put their 5 tickets into the group bucket. With a group goal of 25 tickets set, we needed an awesome prize. Ballocity to the rescue!
Ballocity is a local fun center with, you guessed it, a lot of balls! There are tunnels and slides and catwalks as well. Tuesdays are half price days, so the prize was to be redeemed on a Tuesday after the goal was reached.
It took most of the semester, but with each student contributing, we finally reached our goal of 25 books read! So off we went to Ballocity! And boy did we have fun!
I didn't get a picture of myself, but I was found sitting in one of the massage chairs they have here for parents. Isn't that a clever little gimmick?!
I'm not sure if we will have Ballocity as our next big prize. I need to talk it over with the kids. I was thinking bowling? We'll have to wait and see! We might have more than one big prize this semester, because we just started 3 days ago and they've already read 4 books! Yay for reading!
