Three is Big

For the second year in a row, Harrison has been sick on his birthday. However, that didn't stop us from celebrating! This is about the only picture of him where he actually looks like himself. In the rest you could tell that he was tired and feeling icky. We opened gifts that night, but skipped the cake. We wanted him to enjoy it, so we didn't force it on him. He did have a scrap of cake with whipped cream on it with 3 candles. He would have been content with that, but the dinosaur cake was already assembled. I think we'll carve into that tonight!

Something must have clicked in Harrison's mind about being older, because since his birthday he has been informing us, "I am big. I'm not small. Isaac is small." Now if we could just convince him that Big Boys use the toilet and not diapers...:)

Three things to love about this three year old:
  1. Harrison is an unbelievable athlete for a 3 yr. old. Give him any ball, any sport, and the kid is amazing!
  2. If he snoozes with you for a few minutes before getting up, he puts his arm around you as he falls back to asleep.
  3. He prays the best prayers. For example, "Dear Fodder, thank you for mommy, and daddy, and Amana, and mommy, and Anlynn, and mommy and Isaac, and Papa Ricky. Jesus name, Amen." One member of his immediate family will get prayed for alot (it's not always me!), and he rotates the extended family! Sweet, sweet boy.

Happy Birthday Big Boy! We love you so much!
