Crackin' me up

I wish I could remember absolutely every funny thing my kids say. I try my best to document as many comedic stories as I can, but often they just slip away shortly after the laughter dies down. This past week, I've been working really hard to committ of few sweet or funny things to memory in order to memorialize them in this blog. I'll try to share as many as I can remember!

My kids are quite creative. I'm not trying to brag, it's just a really fun time of life for them. They are using their imaginations in such creative and cleaver ways. All three of the big kids are telling stories, making jokes, and playing pretend games with each other. It's been fun for me to overhear some of this play. Amana asked Anlynn to tell her a story. (Anlynn is GREAT at storytelling! Now if only she could be so good at telling the truth...This is not her longest story, but it was sure funny to me!) Here's Anlynn's story:
"Once upon a time there was a little girl named Amana. She didn't want to play outside because it was too windy. The end." (I was chuckling to myself after this. Amana and wind. Too funny! This girl goes straight for the jugular!)

Amana followed it up with a story of her own:
"Once upon a time there was a little girl named Anlynn. She told her sister a really bad story. The end." (I laughed so hard from my hiding spot!)

Harrison has been sleeping in gym shorts lately, no shirt. It's been a hard switch for him. The first night he told Lige, "Dad, I'm naked. I need a shirt." Lige told him he wasn't naked, he had shorts on. Harrison looked at his tummy and touching it said, "but my top is naked." Mom and Dad smiled to each other.

Amana has become a good jump-roper. Harrison picked up the jump rope and attempted to use it correctly. It kept getting twisted so he asked, "Mom, can you help me with this HOP ROPE?"

I love it when kids start experimenting with new vocabulary. Sometimes they use it correctly in context, sometimes not so much. One afternoon when Harrison didn't think he needed a nap, he said, "But I'm not tired. I'm just a small tired." The words small and little can sometimes be interchanged, but in this case not quite. However, the tiny error left my heart with a huge smile. :)

Oh, without question there are more tcute things that I have forgotten! I'll try to keep better mental records in the following weeks to keep these posts coming!
