Tea Party Fun

This past Saturday, the girls and I went to a Tea Party. It was a fundraiser for our local MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers) group. We all dressed up: The girls in lovely dresses, and I did the best I could with a pregnant body, wearing a denim skirt and a spring-ish shirt! We had a fun time drinking tea from beautiful cups, ate scones & cuccumer sandwiches, and had a pleasant time being fancy!

I had the honor of helping design and set up the centerpieces for this event. I love this sort of thing, and it was an enjoyable blessing to me! I have a fondness for tea pots, cups & saucers, and all things dainty. I have more tea pots than anyone my age should have, but they can in handy for this event!
The girls and I enjoyed ourselves very much. They especially liked that this was for "Just us girls-NO BOYS ALLOWED!" -Something they said several times leading up to the big day! Amana and I had 2 cups of tea, while Anlynn had several glasses of "squash". Apparently squash is a fancy English lemonade-like punch. We had delicious scones with devonshire cream and jam, as well as chocolate cake. About 30 minutes before we were to arrive, I realized that there would be absolutely nothing Anlynn could have except tea and punch! Thankfully I had some gluten-free bread at home (which she loves) and the church has gluten-free cookies on hand for her. I am so proud of how she deals with this unpleasant inconveinience. She was delighted to have bread and cookies, and didn't get upset at all that she couldn't have what the rest of us ate. Sweet girl. I wish she was always that easy to please!
