Weekend fun

The Reeds enjoyed a weekend at home this past week. Friday night we went to a hometown football game. Harrison enjoyed cheering on the team. He even picked up a new word, "GO!". He'd look at the players, pump his fist and hollar, "Gooo!". It was the cutest thing ever!

Saturday rained off and on. So Lige worked in the garage and I tackled the ridiculous job of sorting seasonal clothing. As every mom knows, this is a huge undertaking! Since both mom and dad were otherwise occupied, the kids decided to find a mud puddle to play in. Not every day is a good day to play in the mud, like when you are about to leave for a wedding or it's almost bedtime. But Saturday was a great day for digging in the mud, so we let the kids have fun. Harrison even got to taste the mud! And because I'm a blogger and a scrapper, I snapped the picture of his reaction before going to his rescue!

The girls have been saying some cute things lately. We have never used the word "tinkle" in our home to refer to using the potty, so Anlynn must have picked it up from somewhere else. It got lost in the translation, however, and when she used it for the first time it came out like this, "Mommy, I need to go tinker." After playing in the mud, Anlynn came in and told me she was having a lot of fun playing in the "muddles"...quite a clever time-saver...you know, because it takes so long to say "mud puddles"! I love it! And Amana has her own innocent misrending of a common phrase. I'm sure you've all heard someone say "Come out, come out, wherever you are." Amana is convinced that the phrase is "Come out, come out, forever you are!" I could go kiss my sleeping babies right now with that giddy mother-love!
