We Have a Teenager

 Amana is thirteen!
I'm probably going to write up a little something about how I feel about that some other time.  But for now, as I rightly should, I'm focusing on how exciting and wonderful it is to celebrate Amana at 13!

She had a good birthday.  Nothing spectacular, but a nice day nonetheless.

She got a rose bush that she is so excited to plant as the first flower in a flower garden she has planned.

She's growing like a weed, so we had to exchange her size seven sandals for a LARGER size.  She's going to have bigger feet than me soon!

One of her "big" gifts was a leather journaling Bible that Lige has spent the past year reading and writing in for her.  It was a special and thoughtful (and time consuming) gift.  Amana was very grateful.

Amazing Amana at Thirteen
You love children and you have spent the past school year serving kids in the Library Program and the AWANA Cubbies ministry at church.

You continue to love dance, and you are a graceful performer.

You just recently started babysitting!

You are a very thoughtful friend.  You put a lot of care into tending your friendships.

You are the queen of big ideas: parties, events, projects, fundraisers.

You read to your sisters almost every night.  You've taken them on adventures they'll never forget.

You can be quite bossy to your siblings. We have to remind you that it's not your job to parent them!

You have the sweetest and most sincere faith.  You trust Jesus at his word.  We gave you the name Amana Faith which literally means Faithful Faith.  Your name has been our prayer over your life.  And it has been a delight to see that prayer answered as you grow in your knowledge and love of God more each passing year.

Happiest of Birthdays to you, Sweet Girl!  Thirteen looks great on you!
