Horse Camp

Since she was a tiny little girl, Amana has loved horses.  We haven't really had a ton of horse encounters- a few times at Grandma and Grandpa Reed's, a farmer friend every now and then, but regardless...the love affair continued!

We found out that the same church camp the kids attended this summer also offers Day Horse Camps.  So we jumped at the chance to sign Amana up!  It was 2 weeks ago.  It was a full Saturday- 9:30am-6:30pm.  She was originally supposed to join a friend, but at the last minute her friend was unable to attend.  I knew she would be nervous without her friend, but we encouraged her to go anyway.  And I'm so glad we did, because she ended up having an amazing day!

Amana got to groom and ride Bella.  She loved taking care of this sweet horse for the day.  She got to brush, saddle, ride and feed her.  I could tell it was hard for Amana to leave her new animal friend when it was time to go.    She patted her cheek and whispered something sweet in Bella's ear.  I love my tenderhearted girl!
