It's hard to believe that our sweet Anlynn girl is now FOUR! She has been looking forward to her birthday since January! At our house, the kids countdown to their birthday by others' birthdays. For example, "First it's Granny's birthday, then it's Aunt Sandy's birthday, and after Nanny's birthday, IT'S MY BIRTHDAY!" And this year was no exception. For the last month, Anlynn has been announcing that her birthday was next!
We had a simple birthday at home for Anlynn this year. I sent Lige to get the gifts...if you want Lige to be very generous, send him out alone to buy presents! We had discussed a few options before he went, but he came home with so much more! We opened presents before dinner. She got several nice things, her favorite being 2 pairs of new shoes. No, we are not practical parents who only get our kids what they need for their birthdays...Anlynn actually requested new shoes for her birthday. And seriously, since the girl could walk, she was in love with shoes!
We had our Minden small group last night, so we took our rice-based, butterfly cake over there. Adults and kids alike sang Happy Birthday to Anlynn while she grinned! I think she had a pretty good day! Thank you for all the cards, gifts, facebook notes, and phone calls. You helped to make her day!

HI friend! I can't believe she is four! Seems like yesterday she was the baby in the stroller when we went walking. I am glad the day was a hit!
The Easter pictures are darling. Harrison looks like a little stud. And you can't see the battle wound. :) Call me sometime when you are in town.
