The kids are warming up to Max...very slowly. There are still days when Anlynn says, "I don't want this dog anymore. I want a different dog!" She doesn't like that Max runs after her if she walks by and that he thinks anything that moves is a toy, including her!
Max is currently the perfect size to attack Harrison! Harrison has gotten to where he will laugh a little now, instead of scream and lay there!
Amana has taken to Max the best. We've given her little opportunities of ownership and she's done well. She can take him out of his kennel, pick him up, and carry him outside to go potty. She's also learning that if he nips at your hands it means he wants to play and she needs to find a toy.
Maggie has finally welcomed Max into the pack. It's taken her a while to realize she can't play very rough with him yet, since he's still small and a little afraid of her! In another month or so, I'm sure they'll be play-fighting like the best of them! She teases him with her toys. She'll play around and toss up her favorite toys, then sneakily lay it at Max's feet. It's like she's taunting him and daring him to pick it up. If he so much as sniffs it, Maggie lunges with a soft growl and takes to playing with it again. Dogs are so silly!
He's hard work, nosy, messy and terrifying for the kids...but isn't he cute?!
