We had a great family day Saturday. I was able to sleep in (thanks Lige!), finish a great book (Jane Eyre-love those classics!), and spend a fun hour in nature.Lige's boss owns an island on the Platte River and has given us permission to explore it. After a week of sub-zero temperatures, we decided to take advantage of the warmer weather Saturday offered. To be out in the fresh air with our kids was a great feeling. We laughed together, took fun pictures, and Amana even experienced her first "Outdoor Potty" experience! We propped her up against a tree and there
she went! She said, "I'm peeing like a daawwgg!" Anlynn had said she had to go to, but after watching Amana, she said, "Um, I'll wait till we get home."

He found a stick and was in little boy heaven! We found deer tracks, crunched leaves under our feet, and saw the water in the Platte actually flowing!
Those are the kind of days that make you go, "Ahhh...I love our life!"
