A Harrison Story

We spent Sunday afternoon and evening decorating the house for Christmas, both inside and out. There were the usual giggles of glee as ornaments were passed out and hung on the tree. For the past 3 years, our artificial, pre-lit tree has been only partially lit. We'd just rotate the tree and put the unlit section up against the wall! For some unknown reason, and some husband tinkering, the whole thing magically burst into light this year!
Yesterday Harrison walked up to the tree and started quacking. I looked around for a duck ornament, but there were no ducks to be found. Then he pointed to the snowman and quacked again! Looking into the snowman's face, I found a duckbill-looking carrot nose! I love that kids take something new (a snowman) and fit it in the best they can with what they already know (a duck), and come up with something that makes perfect sense to them!
I'm afraid my Christmas cards are getting out later than I'd like this year. I had even made them months ago and addressed them last month! But we were waiting for the perfect Christmas picture to go inside them. After all this delay, at least I can say Thank you Lige for the new copier, printer, scanner, faxer! Once the picture decision was made, I ran down to the basement, selected wallet size and hit print! Be watching your mailboxes!
