There is something poignant to me about this picture.
I took this photo of Anlynn while we were on vacation in Colorado.
She had come downstairs and asked if she could go out on the upstairs balcony to read her bible.
The girl who hated reading.
The girl who COULD NOT READ, because her eyes COULD NOT SEE.
She grabbed a blanket, because the mountains are chilly in autumn, and sat out on the deck like this.
Hunched up over her bible.
Battling to read each word in that tiny print.
I'm struck by two significant morsels of truth:
My daughter is willing to fight hard to read The Word of God.
The Word of God is worth fighting hard to know.
It is a lesson taught to me again each time I view this picture.
"...I have treasured the words of His mouth more than my portion of food." Job 23:12b
May it be so.
