There are perks to winter, don't get me wrong. Christmas, snow ice cream, hot chocolate, snow men, fire places all lit up. But by the time February rolls around, I am pretty sick of cold and mucky, gray days.
For this reason Easter Sunday was so poignant for me this year. Spring is full of new life and new growth. Grass fights to emerge. Trees shake off winter's gloom as they bud. These are reminders of our new life in Christ. He defeated death, the long winter. He rose again, the bright spring. And if we know Him, this is true for us as well. Through Christ, we cast off our old, dead self and become a new creation. Hallelujah!
"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the has come." 2 Corinthians 5:17

Happy Easter! (At least from some of us, lol!)
Isaac was SO MAD that he had to wear these ugly church shoes instead of his "running shoes." And poor Harrison's eyes seem to be so sensitive to the sun...even in the shade...and only when a camera is involved. :)
