We did lots of hiking while on vacation. And how can you hike without a good walking stick?! Lige found a really cool one for himself that had been left behind by previous campers. When the kids saw it, of course they wanted one. Okay, and so did I. :) We really loved our walking sticks:
And here we are again.
While the five of us crossed the rough terrain with our walking sticks and good walking shoes, Isaac spent most of the vacation like this:
Well, actually, like this, but strapped onto Lige's back! The rhythmic bounce of hiking often lulled Isaac to sleep. The kids had about 4 naps a day! He's asleep in the above picture.
We tried to make sure to get pictures of all six of us together. Sometimes we propped the camera on a rock and set the timer. Other times, like for the photo above, kind strangers would offer to take one for us. I think it's telling that most of these kind strangers were young empty-nesters who reminded us that this time with wee ones goes quickly. Hearing that made us even more thankful we decided to take this trip now, and made us eager to continue taking time to make fun memories with our kids.
