This past week, Lige and my dad began a huge project at our house. With rain, rain, and more rain, our basement (along with many others') had flooded. What a stinky mess. Lige shipped the kids and I off to Omaha so he could tackle wall, carpet and mold removal. My dad graciously offered to come help, and we gladly (and desparately!) accepted. The guys spent the week tearing down walls, yanking up carpet, scrubbing and scouring, filling and sealing. The job ahead still looms large, but we are now mold free, dried out, and partially sealed. We also have an outlined plan of attack for some dirt-work along the north end of the house. Honestly, we could not have done all this without my dad's help. He came here to work, and I'm pretty sure he worked his tail off! Thank you, Dad, for your help, your wisdom, and your willingness to come. We appreciate it more than you could know.
