We have been struggling with some major computer issues for several weeks. That would explain the lack of blog posts, even after I'd just promised to be more frequent with them! Thngs are better, but not perfect, so this post will not have any pictures. That's a little hard for me. Something just seems wrong with posting without a picture! But I'll make do.

Isaac is 10 weeks old today. He is growing so fast. His 2 month check up last week went well. The most distressing part was taking a healthy baby in for a well baby check and waiting in a room full of fevers, coughs and sneezes! Thankfully none of us picked up any nasty germs during our visit. Isaac has found his hands, and he loves them! He likes to gnaw on them during his alert time. And when he's ready to rest he puts them together on his chest. It's the sweetest thing.

Harrison has been talking well for quite a while, but we're still surprised at the things he comes up with. When we're crossing the parking lot to pick Anlynn up from preschool, he will stop and say, "Ready set go, Mommy?" Then I have to say it for him, and he races to the door. He loves all things sport related. He can hit a ball with a bat while holding the ball. He can run up and kick a teed-up football. I hear that is a little impressive for a 2 year old to do, mastering the timing and all. When you catch a football he's just thrown to you he yells, "Touchdown, WHOO HOO!" He loves to dance and has some wild moves. It's a little bit drummer, a little bit head-banger, a little bit break dancer and a little bit hip-hop! It's a whole lotta cute!

Anlynn has decided that she doesn't like the game BINGO. Can you guess why? Because she didn't win. This surprises me a little. Amana is much more competitive, and Anlynn is usually up for a good time whether she wins or loses. Apparently, though, BINGO is out! One thing that is IN with Anlynn is being read to. She has always wanted to be in control of the book, even as an infant. She has "read" to her dolls and to us, but rarely would sit still during a story. Lately, however, she has been asking for me to read to her. I love it. I just wish I had more time for it. There have been times I had to tell her no. But there have also been times when I should have told her not right now, but took the time to read anyway. Oh, parenting...always a balancing act!

Amana wanted to clean the girls' room all by herself yesterday. I was shocked, but not so much as to forbid the cleaning! She did amazing. She even washed the wood floors and laid out jammies for both girls. Because she had worked so hard, Lige agreed to let me take her for a treat after dinner. Minden doesn't have a ton of options, especially after 5pm, but I remembered she loves the cinnamon sticks at Pizza Hut. So the 2 of us went there. During our wait, we played "Would you Rather". It's a game we play when waiting: at the doctor's office, at restaurants, etc. We take turns asking each other questions like, "would you rather ride in a plane or in a train?" It's fun to see what their answers are, sometimes the answers surprise me. But it's really fun to hear the questions they come up with. Last night Amana asked, "Would you rather have mascara or pajamas?" My answer was mascara, obviously. :) The cinnamon sticks came as five long sticks cut in half. I ate all mine and waited while Amana finished her last two. When she had one left, she paused and I thought she was full. She smiled and told me she wasn't done. She grabbed a knife, cut it in half, and gave me a piece. It seems like such a silly thing, but it brought tears to my eyes. As parents, you hope to raise kind and generous children. But sometimes you don't know how to accomplish that. That's why it is extra sweet when you get to see random evidence that they are somehow learning it. What a joy my first born is. I love spending time with her like that, and look forward to time alone with Anlynn soon.
