Since fall seemed to last an entire ONE day here, I'm especially thankful that we went out and enjoyed it! About a month ago, we headed out to a local recreation area. It's one of our favorite places to go with the kids. There's just something special about being out in nature without all the busyness and distractions of everyday life. The weather was amazing: sunny with blue skies, warm enough for long sleeved shirts and no wind (some of you may remember a certain "wind" incident...!)so we decided to take Isaac out with us for his first nature hike.
The kids love to explore God's creation on outings like
this. We found beautiful flowers (I'm not sure they weren't just pretty weeds!), lots of sticks and leaves, grasshoppers and horse hoof-prints.

We got lots of fresh air and sunshine. It was a great way to spend a Saturday afternoon in autumn. The very next weekend brought snow, and fall was over! Well, to be fair to the season, we've had a few more random days of lovely fall weather. But mostly it's been gray, rainy, and snowy!
