Somehow Isaac turned SEVEN

We celebrated Isaac's birthday last week.  I am really having a hard time wrapping my head around the fact that he is now SEVEN.  Time is sure whizzing by!

Isaac woke up on his birthday at Grandma and Grandpa Reed's house.  This turned out pretty lucky, because Grandma took birthday requests and served up waffles(the real kind, not toaster waffles!)with whipped cream and strawberries!  Then he got to open some presents: tons of Hot Wheels and Marine figures.  Pretty awesome start to the big day!

After we left Grandma and Grandpa Reed's house, we had to make a stop at Nanny and Grandpa's house to pick up a dishwasher.  There also happened to be birthday cake and presents waiting for Isaac.

Once we left there, we traveled home, arriving with just enough time to open the rest of his presents and have another cake!

Isaac really wanted a brown football with white.  He had black and red one, which was fine, but he was very specific about the brown and white one.  Because he is Isaac.  ;)

This whiz kid really hoped for a microscope set and that is what he got!  He has already spent hours gazing into it and really wants to start prepping his own slides.

This is Isaac's second cake of the day.  His first was an ice cream cake.  This is the one I made for him.  He had requested a Monster Truck cake, and he helped me look at ideas on Pinterest.  I like how it turned out, and so did he.

Isaac's fists are not banging the counter demanding cake.  They are holding an imaginary monster truck steering wheel.  I know, because he told me when I asked him to stop while I took a picture.

Seven Super Fun Facts about Isaac at SEVEN:
1.You love everything to do with science and history.
2. You love Legos, Hot Wheels, and military toys.
3. You've been coloring up a storm.  You told me, "Coloring keeps me calm."
4.You are a ball of wild energy, but when you are tired you put yourself to bed.
5. You still like to snuggle on the couch when we're watching TV.  You often ask to share my blanket.
6. You are a fish.  You love to swim and splash.  You got a snorkel set a year ago, and you've mastered it.  You'll swim face down with the snorkel from long stretches of time, leaving us to wonder what's going on in your head.  :)
7. You are always up to try something new, even if it's scary.  Or should I say, especially if it's scary!  Like this zipline this summer:
We love you so much, Isaac Jonathan!  We love seeing all the special ways God made you.
Happy Birthday, Buddy!
