In February the girls attended the Fifth Annual Father/Daughter Dance with their daddy. I had fun finding them dresses and fixing their hair. They are each so uniquely beautiful, inside and out!
The event is put on by a local church, complete with dinner, photographer, and of course dancing.
Now that Amana is almost 13, I thought maybe she would think she was too old for this kind of thing. I am so glad I was wrong! I'm so thankful our community doesn't limit the age of girls wishing to attend. Similar dances in surrounding communities have age restrictions. I've thought many times in the past few years that those communities cut off the opportunity for a great father/daughter experience precisely when daughters need that special time with their dads the most.
I'd say he's a pretty lucky guy. :)
While Lige was off dancing the night away, the boys and I spent the evening at our official
Mother/Son Pizza Hut Date. They bought me tattoos from the quarter machines. Thankfully they went with the sparkly butterfly. I wore it to church the next day, and my boys were pretty proud. :)
I'm pretty lucky, myself.
