Boat!

Lige recently got our boat licensed.  We've had it for quite a while, but just got around to getting it lake ready.  It was my dad's boat, so I have many of my own childhood memories of time in it.  Now we are helping our kids make some of their own!

We used to think that fun nights like this were only acceptable on weekends.  However, we recently thought, "Why not do it on any ole evening?"  We've been out a couple times already, with more outings to look forward to.  In our quest to "make healthier life choices," getting outside and active has become more important to us.  Lige shared with me last night that he'd really like our kids to have memories of us doing fun things together, not just loafing in front of the tv.  I agree.  Even if I'd rather just sit on the coach at first, as soon as I'm outside I feel better.  Last night I ate my dinner at a picnic table by a lake as my family paddled around and fished.  Can't get much more relaxing than that!

Harrison caught a bass.  It's a lot more fun fishing now that he can cast and reel in on his own, with minimal hook-caught-in-tree episodes.  Isaac caught a little fish from the boat quick- They'd only been on the water for about 2 minutes.  (So I'm told...the big girls and I were late to this party, coming from dance pictures.)

Well, anyway.  We're having fun.  We're being active.  And we're making memories!
