Our sweet little Anlynn (who is not so little anymore!) turned 9 last week! This sassy-sweet girlie had a pretty great day.
She opened gifts after church.
Anlynn received quite a bit of help from Lucy. It's a good think Anlynn is really patient and kind to Lucy. She even let her help open some of her presents.
Anlynn received many nice gifts. She is at an age where toys start to seem a bit babyish, but she still longs for fun things do play. Her family knows her well, and her gifts were perfect!
Most everyone knows that Anlynn is a bit of a fashionista. She loves clothes and wears them well. Good thing she got several cute dresses for summer- Just what she was hoping for. :)
We love this girl so much. She has had a tough year working hard to overcome her eye issues. It's been hard on her parents, too. But we are so proud of all the practice and therapy she does to keep getting better. We have seen a renewed interest in books, which delights me especially because I love reading so much. We have watched her as she's become aware of the details of the world around her...things that for a long time were lost on her because she just couldn't see them clearly.
Nine years old. Boy, it sure goes by so fast.
Anlynn, our Sunshine Girl, we love you so. We are so proud of the young lady you are becoming. We love to see how hard you work. You work hard to improve yourself, but you also work hard to bless those around you. We see the love you have for underdogs, and it is a beautiful thing. We see you grow in your love of Jesus and your desire to live for Him. What more could parents hope for? Be blessed, sweet girl, as a nine year old and always.
Nine Things to Remember About Anlynn at Nine:
-You love styling your hair, painting fingernails, and picking out cute outfits
-You are great (and willing!) at cleaning bathrooms and washing dishes
-You are scared to death of chicken and sheep, but are excited to raise a pig for 4H
-You are eating more wheat, but are good at self-regulating if you notice yourself having melt-downs
-You are bossy and matter-of-fact but also very compassionate, which will make you a compelling leader
-You care about people's hearts and want them to know Jesus
-You pray prayers that are both simple and profound.
-You love music, especially music with emotionally charged lyrics
-You can still throw one heck of a fit, but you are quick to seek forgiveness
I love you, Anlynn. Happy Birthday.
