A kind family in our church plants a huge pumpkin and gourd patch each year. Then they invite families with young children to pick as many as they want. It is such a fun, easy way to minister to families. Because who doesn't love a great pumpkin hunt?!
This is our second year exploring their patch, hunting for perfect pumpkins. It was a beautiful fall day, my favorite sun shiny, bright blue sky- kind of day . It also happened to be Lucy's birthday.
Isaac was sure to dress the part: overalls, a working glove (just one because that's all he could find) and protective eye wear. This kid is a hoot, through and through.
Decisions, decisions, decisions...
Amana found a pumpkin to fit Lige's specifications: If you can't carry it, you can't have it. She was pushing it though, for sure!
And because Lucy is adorable and it was her birthday, Daddy's pumpkin picking rule did not apply to her. :)
Our church friends had an old tractor right by the pumpkin patch. Try keeping these kids off it!
And harvest-ready corn is the perfect backdrop for some awesome sibling pictures, too.
Even for a band of wild monkeys! (wink)
