Game Boy

I love this boy.

He came up to me last week and told me he had invented a new game.

He called it Dodger Dare.
(I found out later was taken from a TV show--the name, not the game.)

You take a penny or a quarter and try to throw it into an empty sprinkle container.

I was doing my usual: wasting time on the internet, telling my kids to "go play".

I almost missed a great Mommy Moment.

I decided to play.

And it was fun.

We laughed and tossed money and cheered each other on.

It's harder than you think.  Especially the quarter.

Then Daddy got home and we got him to play too.

What a happy day.

Lord, thank you.  Thank you for helping me die to myself and my selfishness in order to have this special moment with my son.  Thank you that when we die to ourselves we truly live a life of joy.
