Piano Recital

As you know Amana has been taking piano lessons. She works hard at her lessons and practices with a good attitude. It has been fun to see her learn something that I find so foreign. Her first few lessons, I was able to help a little. But it didn't take long for her to pass up any knowledge I possess!

Last night Amana had her first piano recital. I was so thrilled by her performance! She was a little nervous as we were getting ready, and even shed a few tears. But once we arrived, she was just a little timid. She performed second out of about 20 other students. She was very brave and very confident as she marched up and took her seat at the piano bench. Seeing her there in all her pint-sized confidence, I couldn't help but think how far she has come. A few short years ago, she cried her way through preschool programs, if she even made it that long, for some she simply sat out. Now, I see a beautiful little girl, sitting tall and proud at a piano in front of a room full of listeners...such a lovely transformation.

Amana played two songs, and I've posted a video of each. If you receive this post by email, you will need to click on this link www.deertales.blogspot.com to view the videos.

I'd also like to thank God for providing this musical opportunity for Amana. Her teacher, Miss Angie, has graciously and generously donated her time and talent to teach Amana piano. Miss Angie is a wonderful teacher, but the thing I love most is that she teaches Amana to use her talent to honor the Lord. I'd also like to thank Miss Angie for arranging for Amana to participate in this recital. Miss Angie doesn't have other students at this time, so she arranged with another area instructor for Amana to perform in his students' recital. It was an important step in her instruction and gave a special focus to her lessons and practice.

As a mom, I couldn't be prouder. I love you, my musical Amana!
