Who knew there was such a think as Snow Ice Cream?! Maybe I'm the only one who has every heard of this until now. Thanks to the internet, and specifically Facebook, I learned about it last week, right when we were getting bucketfuls of snow. Or should I say bowlfuls?
We decided to make some. And by adding a few extra components, I turned it into a school lesson. 'Cuz I'm cool like that. :)
Of course there was stirring and pouring, mixing and measuring.

We made two different recipes and colored them differently. Then we did very scientific research: we carefully sampled hearty portions of each to determine our personal favorite. :)
And to make things really "school-ish", we charted our results like this:
And since Amana is older and in second grade, I made her journal answers to my questions about the chart. If you're in the Tri-cities area, I'm pretty sure there's a fresh crop of snow to harvest! If you'd like to give it a try, here's what you need to know:
Green
8 cups of fresh snow
1 can sweetened condensed milk
1 teaspoon vanilla
Stir and eat!
Red
8 cups of fresh snow
1 can sweetened condensed milk
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup milk
1 cup sugar
Stir and eat and be giddy because it tastes so good!
