This sweet girl is having surgery to remove her adenoids today: Friday, June 12. Would you please pray for her? She's pretty nervous. Tonight she was better than I anticipated, but this afternoon was tough. She gets overwhelmed and nervous about the unknown. She's never had surgery before, so this is new. Thank you for the prayers!
When we went to her first orthodontist appointments in May, it was discovered that her very enlarged adenoids was actually contributing to her orthodontic problems. When you can't breathe through your nose because of 98% adenoids blockage, you breathe through your mouth. When you breathe through your mouth, your tongue doesn't rest on the roof of your mouth. And when that doesn't happen, your upper jaw narrows and causes your teeth to crowd because your tongue is not there to keep them spaced. Who knew? I'm amazed at how God made our bodies to work so complexly.
Anyhow...First stop in our orthodontic adventure was actually an ENT (ear nose throat) appointment. After numbing and scoping Amana's nose, there was no doubt the adenoids needed to be removed. And here we are, on the eve of surgery. Here's to better breathing and better sleeping, Amana! And eventually straighter teeth! ;)
