Summer Schedule

In an effort to keep motivated and fun this summer, I've implemented a loose schedule that I found, where else, Pinterest!

Make Something Mondays- some time to craft or work on 4H projects
Time to Read Tuesdays- weekly trip to the library
What's cooking Wednesdays- make something yummy
Thoughtful Thursdays- do something for someone else like write a letter or make cookies
Fabulously Fun Fridays- this one is wide open!

I like this schedule because it's more of guideline, full of possibilities.  Plus, it keeps me motivated to do more than hang clothes on the line and take naps! :)

I got a late start on the schedule, so we skipped Monday.  Tuesday we went to the library.  Our little library is so great.  There are a ton of fun toys and games, as well as all the awesome books.  The kids chose books, I played a game of checkers with Isaac, and we checked out 2 movies.  Up next, What's Cooking Wednesday!  I found "cool" recipe on Pinterest here.

We made Jello Shaved Ice!  For less than $5 we made 3 batches and set them in the freezer.  It was very simple and quick to mix up.  The freezer time makes it hard to wait, but we kept them in the freezer overnight.  This, uhh, late morning, we were ready to try it.  It scraped up easily with our flat spoon.  Everybody got a huge serving, and we still have a ton left!

Here's to simple schedules and a fun summer!
