Miss Lucy is now six months old. She is so sweet, so cuddly, so even tempered. She has a lovely temperament and an easy smile. Her eyes are brown and so is her sparse hair.
Lucy has been enjoying solid foods. I would say she's one of our best baby food eaters. Or maybe I just don't stress about it like I did when I was a first-time new mom... :) She's tried cereal, bananas, sweet potatoes, peas, carrots, apricots, and pears. In that order. I should get some kind of an award for remembering all that!
Lucy hates baths. Really. She cries the whole time she's in the water. However, she loves showers just fine. Go figure. The smile in this post-bathing picture is deceiving. She had totally just screamed her head off in a bath. But I love this picture of us...I realized recently that I need to get more pictures of us together.
Isn't she just so cute?! She is still toothless without any signs of changing anytime soon. Lucy loves to watch her siblings run around and be wild. She gets so excited. You can tell she can't wait to run wild with them.
Several times a day Lucy can be found like this...snuggled up cozy in Daddy's arms. Lucy is our only baby who has had the privilege of being born during Lige's time working here in Minden. This has been a real blessing because he is around so much during the day. He has the magic touch when it comes to putting Lucy to sleep. And because Lucy is our fifth baby and not our first, we are cherishing the breaking of rules: We snuggle or nurse her to sleep instead of putting her in bed "sleepy but still awake". I know this will be an issue we'll have to deal with eventually, but they grow so quickly and we have chosen to savor these moments.
The day Lucy turned six months old, she decided it was time to sit all by herself. She skipped the tri-pod sit and went straight to balancing on her wiggly bottom. Anlynn was with her, sharing in Lucy's success and cheering her on. Lucy was a little startled at this new way of being. Her face says it all!
Oh how we love this little girl! Lucy brings us so much joy each and every day. It's hard to believe that just over six months ago we were crying over her in the NICU. Thank you, Dear Lord, for the gift of this incredible little one.
