Make-overs and Miscellaneous

Lige was gone again last week, so the kids and I got creative in how we spent our time. A very good friend came over two days in a row for scrapbooking! I know for several of you that would be torture, but for Kerri and I it was a delightful treat! I had gone through all my supplies and weeded out things I wouldn't be using anymore. Things like old paper and stickers were put into a basket for the kids to use. They loved it! I gave them scissors and glue sticks and they went nuts! Anlynn even made all the valentine's for her classmates.
Besides the scrapbooking marathon, the girls and I decided to do a make-over on Friday. Trust me, I am not in the habbit of allowing my daughters to paste their lovely faces in cakie make-up. But if any of you have very girlie-girls, you'll understand their love affair with the stuff! Some of my favorite memories with my grandma are the times she allowed me to put make-up on her and she would put a little on me. So in that tradition, we held a make-over. As you can tell, I look years younger just by changing my make-up! Amana had fun painting my face and asking all about each item. When she was done, she pulled out a mirror and as she turned it toward me she said, "Welcome to the NEW YOU!" Where does she come up with this stuff?! I had fun as well experimenting with different colors on my girls to enhance their natural coloring! It was like having real-life dollies and I got to pretend to be a cosmetologist! We also discussed that make-up is nice and fun, but we are beautiful because God made us each so special.
Aren't they lovely girls? :)
Now that Isaac is more interactive, Harrison has really taken to being The Big Brother. He snuggles him, helps him, and loves it when Isaac "talks" to him. Harrison has a new phrase: "I can do it all by myself", and he says it 100 times a day! His very favorite thing to do by himself is put on his coat. A couple of weeks ago I taught him to lay his coat on the floor with the hood closest to him, slip in his arms, and flip the coat over his head. He loves it! He does it everywhere, even in the checkout line at Walmart. The poor clerk in the next line about stepped on him! But Harrison was beaming with pride because he did it all by himself. :)

Are you ready for a shock? Isaac is now six months old! Can you believe how quickly half a year has flown by? I certainly can't. Isaac now has one tooth, loves to roll and scoot backwards (wood floors make crawling forward a bit tricky!), and he sits very well. He babbles to himself and others. We are so excited that he finally started belly-laughing. He had a happy laugh-squeal thing he did with a smile, but we couldn't wait for him to let out a real belly-laugh. It's such a delightful sound: very deep and manly!

Check out the hair on this kid! It's always like that, sticking straight up! Man, I love these kids!

Must run in the family! My hair stuck up like that for 2 years straight! That is, what little hair I had since I was practically bald until I was 2! lol. Love you guys!
