Sunday afternoon was beautiful and the kids wanted to play outside. Since Lige was busy working on the kitchen floor and I was busy watching him, we decided to let them. Harrison was outside all of 2 minutes when Max decided he liked his new play toy: Harrison. He loped over to him, playfully pounced on him, and thus knocked Harrison down face first into the bottom step. I watched the whole thing happen, and being pregnant and sitting on the floor, I was unable to do anything to help prevent the accident. I raced out as quickly as my pregnant self could get there and lifted my sweet son from the pavement as blood rushed from his nose. Of course there was crying and carrying on, and only some of it was Harrison. I threw him to Lige and grabbed a rag. Lige sat with him while I got something cold from freezer. I have this weird fear that my kids are going to knock their teeth out or bite through their lips, so that was my first area of concern. Teeth and mouth were fully intact. His poor nose was a different story. One side swelled up and blood came out both nostrils. Just wiping the blood away caused a new wave of tears and screams. However, I had found a popsicle in the freezer, and it's amazing how quickly tears stop in the presence of such a treat! We thought for sure Harrison's nose would bruise badly, but thankfully it's okay. Here's a picture of the poor guy, recovered enough to smile:
And here's a picture of the finished kitchen floor! I think it's funny that all the projects we have wanted to do, are finally getting done in order to sell the house and we won't even get to enjoy them!

And one final thing. Amana told a joke today. I use "joke" a bit loosely. It was hilarious to me, but jokie? Here ya go: Amana-Why did the car run over the cat? Me-I don't know. Amana-because the car didn't know the cat was there (then she made this pretend sad face and says, "ohh" in that pitiful voice people use when the hear sad news)! You cat lovers might not see the humor, but those of you who are not will at least get a grin!
